Elbow Drop

As with most of Muay Chaiya defensive moves, it is designed to hurt and punish the opponent's weapon, by striking it hard with the point of your elbow, either straight down, or across. Also, the body weight is also used in the technique, to add extra force and power, to further hurt the opponent. Execution Stand in the Tha Kru right stance:
  1. Wait for the opponent's attack.
  2. Drop your weight by bending the knees.
  3. Adjust the line of the elbow (using Phlik Liam) so that it is in line with the opponent's weapon.
  4. Drop the guard slightly so that it adds extra force on impact.
  5. Straighten your legs, and make sure your guard has returned to the normal level.
Remember not to drop your guard to much, as you don't want to expose your face too much!
