Joob Sawg

Kiss the Elbow

When used correctly Joob Sawg is extremely fast and powerful and is a great way of protecting yourself from a range of hand strikes, and because it shares the same side as Bat, the follow up movements are the same. However, in this case, the hand is used to intercept the strike, and then the elbow follows through to deliver damage to the opponents arm

Execution

From any guard:
  1. Move your right hand infront of your nose, letting your elbow rise naturally.
  2. Phlik Liam to the left, making sure that the elbow is at the same height as your hand. Keep your head facing forward.
  3. Raise your left hand to your right breast, make a fist, and rest you arm and fist against your torso.
  4. Your right hand should now be covering your ear, the back of your knuckles should touch the touch the back arc of your ear.
  5. Repeat with the opposite side.
Remember that the hand is the parry in this movement, so you may need to adjust the height of your hand to intercept the strike correctly. Follow through with the Phlik Liam, so that you can feel the power and weight of the body coming out through your elbow.

From a parry to a counter

As with Thad Ma Laa, Joob Sawg can be changed from a straight parry into a single counter just by changing the range between you and your opponnent. All it takes is a quick step (Teurn or Gao) or a slide step (Seub) towards your opponent and the parry will still work, but the elbow will strike the face of your opponent (or throat) causing much more damage.
